Client Management Advisory Notice

 |
From Client Management Operations
Subject Network Consolidation Strategy And Remote Data Center Plans.
Effective Date 02/03/03
Notice Number CMO#0344

The is a reminder to all clearing firms about the upcoming seminar in Chicago, and the requirements for ordering new circuits, consolidating existing circuits and making network configuration changes.

Starting now, with a targeted completion of April 30th, we will be implementing a series of changes and will conduct testing to further enhance our data communications with clearing member firms.  Our goal is to provide one robust network to accommodate both clearing traffic, electronic order routing and GLOBEX communications.  Furthermore, we are introducing firm clearing connectivity to the CME Remote Data Center.

We will migrate all FIN data traffic currently exists on our private World Com (WCOM) frame relay network to our private AT&T (GLOBEX) frame relay network by April 30th.  Your firm MUST do the following.

Submit your special GLOBEX Schedule 5 forms NOW!

*   Complete the special Schedule 5 paperwork that was previously sent to your designated contact for this project along with your network diagrams.  Fax the signed forms to Client Management at (312) 930 8203 no later than Thursday, February 6, 2003.  This is an extended date.  Please  fax or e-mail a network diagram, preferably in Visio  Some service bureaus and other unique FIN connections will have non-GLOBEX Schedule 5 forms.

*   On this form you must choose to either replace the WCOM circuits with AT&T, or consolidate your clearing data onto one of your existing AT&T GLOBEX or iLink connections.  However, if you select moving clearing traffic through an existing AT&T GLOBEX connection, it is our strong recommendation that you do so with a minimum band width of 512kb or a full T-1.  For some firms, that will mean an increase in bandwidth.

*   Schedule a networking conference call after you have submitted your paperwork and network diagram to review IP addressing and configuration issues.  Contacts are listed at the end of this memo.
